Destructive tidal incursions into Tam Valley’s residential neighborhoods, the business district, and major access roads into and out of the valley are already increasing in frequency and magnitude.
The scientific consensus is that flooding will increase due to sea level rise, increasingly intense storms, and rising groundwater through the end of this century and beyond. The State of California is directing its agencies to plan for 3 ½ feet of sea level rise by 2050 and up to 10 feet by 2100.
