On May 13 , 2023, the Alta Molino NRG/Firewise Community (Edgewood NRG) located on Upper Molino Ave, Heuters Lane, Upper Wildomar St, Birch St., Plimlot Lane and Florence Ave., hosted a Neighborfest Block Party with over 75 neighborhood attendees.
The Alta Molino Community, with 5 NRG Blocks, has 10 Block Captains and several committed Board members. During the Saturday morning Neighborfest event, the Southern Marin Fire Protection District (SMFD) came to show the kids FireTruck #6 and answer fire prevention questions from the neighbors.
Food and coffee from Peets was plentiful and Firewise Liaison Josh Hampshire attended and answered questions about home hardening, vegetation management and insurance discounts. Alta Molino was recently approved to be a Firewise USA community and shared their Year One goals with 4 posters.
This was a great way for folks to meet their neighbors and learn about simple fire prevention actions that we can all take to protect our homes and community. Big Thanks to: MVFD Engine #6, FireSafe Marin, Joinable, City of Mill Valley, and SM NRG!
